BSL ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE
While admission to The British School of Lisbon is selective, our admissions procedure is straightforward and the majority of the information requested can be provided online. Entry assessments are required and can be organised either at our school campus or remotely if you are applying from abroad. Parents typically receive a response from the school within 5 to 10 workings days of applying.
As an international school, we look for students who are all-rounders with strong academic potential, a positive attitude and an interest in extra-curricular activities. We are committed to ensuring our pupils can continue their schooling at the highest level, and gain access to top universities in the UK and worldwide.
We welcome and encourage prospective parents to experience the school and its facilities first-hand. You can arrange for a private tour anytime by using our school visit form. Our admissions department will gladly show you around the campus and answer any questions you may have. You can also discuss in finer details of completing the admissions form and enrolment procedures.
HOW TO APPLY
Visit our Campus
As an international school, we welcome family visits throughout the year and appointments can be made for prospective families at a time convenient during normal school hours. Please use the school tour booking form to make your appointment. We look forward to meeting you and your family.
Complete an Application
Applications for enrolment to our school are submitted through an online application form. Together with the application form, parents may have to submit copies of school reports, pay an application fee and provide copies of other supporting documents. Full details will be provided once the application is processed.
Assessment & Application Review
After the application has been submitted, a parent meeting and child assessment will be scheduled. The school aims to communicate the application outcome within a few days of the assessment date. Each application is thoroughly evaluated by Admissions and the Headmaster. Once the application has been reviewed, Admissions will contact the applicant’s family to notify them of the decision.
Upon successful application. Children are placed in their appropriate year group. Placement is based on the student’s age on September 1. If we are unable to offer spaces at the desired start date, we encourage parents to keep in touch with the Admissions Office.

Applications for the academic year 2019-2020 are for children in Nursery (3 years old) through to Year 4 (8-9 years old), in 2020-2021 we will also offer Year 5 (9-10 years old.), we will continue to add year groups each and every year until we achieve full secondary school.
