Latest Vacancy: Head of Portuguese Studies

The British School of Lisbon is seeking a qualified Professor of Ensino Básico (1º Ciclo and 2º Ciclo) for the position of Head of Portuguese Studies

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher of the highest quality. Applicants should possess all relevant Portuguese qualifications from relevant authorities. Certified documents are needed for application submission.

You must also have a commitment to helping children achieve high academic standards in a lively and engaging manner, whilst integrating differentiation and a range of learning styles into their daily practice.

Applicants should:

  • Be qualified teachers, with a Degree in education recognised by Portuguese authorities and specialising in 1º Ciclo and 2º Ciclo.
  • Have at least 2 years’ post-qualifying experience.
  • Possess a creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom
  • Present excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with staff, students and parents.

About Us

The British School of Lisbon follows a curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Programme and the National Curriculum of England and Wales.

We are a new school in the heart of Lisbon and are chartered by The Schools Trust  an international school group with a rich heritage and reputation for academic excellence.

BSL will open its door to students from September 2019 as an Early Years and a Primary school offering the English National Curriculum to Nursery (3 years old) through to Year 4 (8 years old).

The British School of Lisbon (BSL) is an international school in Cais do Sodre, Lisbon offering contemporary British international education to students from EYFS through to Primary.

The school is located in a lush environment, and offers modern, smart, and exciting learning environments. BSL is part of The Schools Trust.

The Role: BSL seek outstanding, well-qualified and experienced Early Years and Primary teachers to join the school. The children at BSL are between the ages of three and eight years old.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a progressive and creative approach to teaching, together with necessary skills to enhance school life within their department and the school as a whole.

Candidates should demonstrate the capacity to help students achieve their best as part of a team. They should also exhibit a willingness to contribute to the vibrant extra-curricular life in our school.
