I trained as a teacher in 2015 as part of the Teach First Leadership Development Programme, where I specialised in Early Years Education (EYFS). Prior to this, I studied Law at University, before becoming the manager of a tuition centre in London for three years. This position enabled me to work with children whilst developing my skills as a leader, a coach, and a trainer. I quickly realised that my passion was to work with children and completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) as a career changer. I went on to teach in Reception and Year 1, before becoming Early Years Phase Leader. Being awarded outstanding by Ofsted this year was a fantastic achievement for my team.
I am incredibly passionate about providing stimulating learning opportunities and promoting a safe and positive environment for my pupils. I am experienced in teaching phonics and value the importance of a rich language; I read stories to my pupils every day to develop their imagination and build their vocabulary.
I look forward to utilising my experience in early education to support, challenge and inspire the pupils at The British School of Lisbon (BSL).
As I looked for a new challenge in my career, I learned about BSL and immediately felt that the values it stands for resonated with me. I am delighted to be a part of this dynamic international school, dedicated to helping every child be successful. Through engaging experiences in a caring and supportive learning environment, I look forward to helping my pupils become confident, inquisitive and ambitious learners.
I believe that effective teacher-parent partnership is central to pupils’ success in the EYFS and I am excited to provide opportunities for parents to be a part of the BSL community.
About Miss Ebersveiller
On a personal note, I love learning new languages. Being bilingual, I greatly value the impact that mastering a new language and understanding a different culture can have on a social, academic and personal level. I hope that my Spanish and French skills will help me take on the challenge of learning Portuguese!
To relax, I enjoy reading and baking – banana bread is my signature bake. I enjoy outdoor sports and particularly love climbing and surfing, two passions of mine that I look forward to practising more as I move to Lisbon. I am an avid boulderer and cannot wait to explore the rocky areas around Sintra. A keen cyclist, I am eager to discover more of Lisbon by bike and improve my hill cycling. A personal life achievement of mine was cycling up Mount Vesuvius during a cycle tour of Italy last year.
