STAFF PROFILE - TEACHING ASSISTANT

Brittany Neely

“I AM COMMITTED TO INSTILLING A PASSION FOR LEARNING, SPARKING CURIOSITY, AND FOSTERING CREATIVITY.”

Born and raised in the heart of Texas, I embarked on an international journey after completing my undergraduate degree at Texas Woman’s University with a major in Family Studies. My adventure began with four years of teaching in France, followed by seven enriching years in Hong Kong. Now, I've set my sights on Lisbon.

My educational journey has exposed me to diverse classrooms, each presenting unique challenges, from culturally diverse backgrounds to varying learning abilities. These experiences have honed my adaptability and resourcefulness as an educator. I've been enthralled by the art of kindling curiosity and guiding students to those enlightening 'aha' moments. What propels me forward on this path are the stories of my students' accomplishments. The countless 'thank you' notes, the transformative progress of struggling learners, and the boundless enthusiasm when students share newfound knowledge all serve as poignant reminders of the privilege and responsibility that come with being an educator.

I look forward to continuing this inspiring adventure at The British School of Lisbon.

ABOUT MISS NEELY

Beyond the classroom, my passions take me outdoors. You'll often find me on the Padel court, in a dragon boat on the water, or blazing trails through scenic landscapes.

Exploring new cuisines and discovering hidden gems in Portugal's diverse regions is another one of my joys. Most importantly, I relish the opportunity to meet new people and make connections. If our paths cross while I'm out and about, please don't hesitate to say hello! I'm always up for a friendly chat.
