STAFF PROFILE - TEACHING ASSISTANT

BRUNA SILVA

“I LIKE TO SEE CHILDREN IN AN HOLISTIC WAY, RESPECTING THEIR UNIQUENESS AND WORK WITH THEM FROM THERE.”

I think it is our job as educators to provide the right emotional environment, where the young pupils feel seen and heard. This is the confidence they need to express themselves through their dispositions and interests.

I like to see children in a holistic way, respecting their uniqueness and work with them from there.

I firmly believe children need to be nurtured and cared for in the first place so they can feel safe to freely explore, learn and assimilate new knowledge.

I hold a Bachelor in the Non formal education field, and I was already passionate about Early Years Education but it was throughout the PGCEi - Early Years course that I have found my real calling.

I am completely in love with the Reggio Emilia approach and I also like to add some Te whariki's principles to my practice.

I am a certified First Responder and I am also trained regarding Autism spectrum disorders.

For the next years I am intending to deepen my knowledge by going for Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Foster School programmes.

I have been working between the non-formal and formal teaching systems in the last 10 years and I am delighted to join BSL and apply all the knowledge I have gained throughout this journey.
