STAFF PROFILE - TEACHING ASSISTANT

GABRIELA ZARATE DE MACEDO

“I FELL THAT LEARNING IS A PROCESS THAT TAKES PLACE THROUGHOUT OUR WHOLE LIFE.”

I believe that education and learning are not one size fits all, but rather it is the teachers' and teaching assistant's job to speak to each child’s individuality as well as arm them with the proper tools to be lifelong learners. I feel that learning is a process that takes place throughout our whole life, which is essential for our wellbeing and for nurturing and keeping alive our curiosity about the world.

I was fortunate to attend the laboratory school of the UCLA School of Education & Information Studies as a child. U.E.S. (now known as UCLA Lab School) instilled in me a love of learning. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a minor in Communications from the University of Southern California where I also received a full scholarship as a rower. I am TEFL certified as well as have completed the Elklan speech, language and communication support course for early years learners. I also hold a certificate in Early Childhood Education as an associate teacher from UCLA Extension.
