STAFF PROFILE - SCIENCE TEACHER

George Herbert

“IT IS SUCH A JOY TO WATCH PUPILS FALL IN LOVE WITH SCIENCE.“

I graduated from Bristol University and worked in London for a few years prior to completing my Secondary Science PGCE at Oxford University. I have been teaching at St Paul’s school in London for the past 6 years and am excited about starting a new chapter in Lisbon.

It is such a joy to watch pupils fall in love with science as they connect what they learn in the classroom with the world around them. By creating an inspiring environment in the laboratory that encourages students to be inquisitive, self-motivated and passionate, we have a real opportunity to change our future and the world we live in. Science has such an important role in many of the lives of the BSL students and I believe that making the subject fun and interesting is the best way to help them build a wonderful foundation on which to flourish.

ABOUT MR HERBERT

I was lucky enough to grow up in South America and this has given me a real desire to spend time abroad with my family. When I’m not busy with my daughters, I’m outside playing sports with friends (football, tennis, cricket or golf - I’m not picky!). I start my day listening to a podcast on my cycle to work and these are helpful material for my famous end-of-lesson quizzes.
