Whilst studying for my degree in Sociology at the University of York, I worked as a youth project worker in the local area, which instilled a love towards helping support and guide children of all ages and from all backgrounds. After finishing my degree, I decided to move to London to pursue a teaching career and trained as a teacher in a school, where there were a variety of different backgrounds. This aligned with my ethos of being able to provide equal opportunities for everyone and encourage a growth mindset with all children, therefore I stayed at this school for five years.
I believe that what makes a happy, confident and well-rounded child is a positive classroom culture, where each child feels valued, supported, safe and enthusiastic towards their learning. I aspire to always provide a positive classroom culture, where children are enthusiastic and develop a love for learning.
ABOUT MISS BEAVAN
Outside of the classroom, I have always had a love for dancing and choreographing. I went to a professional dance school for 17 years throughout my childhood and have thoroughly enjoyed choreographing dances for children within the school, who also share the same love. My proudest achievement was putting on an all-through school show, which gave children from all backgrounds a chance to show off their musical talents and perform in front of over 250 people.
