A Chemistry teacher by training, I am excited to share my passion for Science with the BSL community. After completing my BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College London and MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh, I worked in the civil service in London on energy policy before finding my way to a rewarding career in education. I have been teaching Chemistry from Year 7 through to Sixth Form for the last four years at the Perse School in Cambridge and have previously taught Science at a secondary school in Ipswich.
I love exploring the science of the world around us, such as the amazing chemical reactions in the kitchen or the hidden world of microbial life, and aim to foster this curiosity in my pupils. I am passionate about boosting pupils' practical skills so they can learn to think like a scientist by planning and executing investigations. Additionally, I am keen to support pupils' scientific literacy and debating skills so they can form and defend opinions on key scientific issues. My lessons are also underpinned by principles from cognitive science.
