At BSL we feel that it is important to maximise the opportunities that living in Lisbon, and being close to the waterfront, offers so we have partnered with Associação Naval de Lisboa, the oldest nautical association in the Iberian Penisula, to provide our students with an introduction to sailing.

Led by fully qualified instructors from ANL, the objective of the introductory course is to make pupils aware of the basic principles of sailing so that they can steer a small sailing boat autonomously and acquire an elementary base of nautical knowledge. The course teaches students the safety principles of sailing through activities both in and out of the water.  Alongside these new skills, the students also develop personal skills such as attentiveness, anticipation, resourcefulness and patience.

The Tagus River, with its stunning views of Lisbon, is without question the perfect setting to learn to sail. It is our hope that our partnership with ANL will be the start of a lifetime interest in sailing for many of our students.
