Sleeping with the Sharks!

School excursions are an important part of our curriculum at The British School of Lisbon.  They allow teachers to take learning beyond the classroom and spark the student’s curiosity and imagination.  Trips allow students to gain a better understanding of topics through real life experiences and engage with experts within their specialist field.

Our Year 4 students were privileged to spend the night at Oceanário de Lisboa ‘sleeping with the sharks’.  The children engaged in a series of fun and educational activities to help them understand more about sharks and the role that everyone plays in the conservation of these animals.  Following their overnight experience, the students received a personalised tour of the oceanarium, experiencing each of the four marine habitats. The trip offered some truly unique experiences whilst deepening the children’s understanding of marine life.
