STAFF PROFILE - TEACHING ASSISTANT

CAROLINE MORITA

“I HOPE TO HELP STUDENTS FOSTER A SENSE OF ACADEMIC SELF-CONFIDENCE.”

I hope to help students foster a sense of academic self-confidence, and to create an environment where they feel comfortable trying out new ideas and approaches to their work. This is my first job in a school setting, and I am excited to learn from all of the teachers here at the British School of Lisbon.

I graduated with a BA in liberal arts from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, and an MPhil in Jewish Studies from the University of Oxford, where I researched modern Israeli emigration. At Oxford, I was involved in outreach teaching programs, where I had the opportunity to lead undergraduate tutorials, as well as visit and teach at state schools in under-resourced areas.

ABOUT MISS MORITA

I was born and raised in Tokyo, where I attended an international school, and have also spent a few years living in the United States and the United Kingdom. I visited Portugal for the first time when I was 11 and fell in love with its stunning natural landscapes, and I am delighted to now be living here! In my free time I enjoy reading modern American literature, visiting historic sites, and swimming in the ocean.
